Preamble:

Valley Hospice Foundation (VHF) is a vital community partner in hospice and community palliative care in the Annapolis Valley.  The Foundation is an independent registered charity that is led by a committed Board of Directors who work collaboratively with the Nova Scotia Health’s Hospice and Community Palliative Care Service teams and other community stakeholders to ensure that the palliative care needs throughout the Annapolis Valley are met – be it at home, in hospice, hospital or other care settings.

In 2020 the 10-bedroom hospice residence was established on the grounds near Valley Regional Hospital in Kentville NS.  This marked a bold achievement for the Foundation and for the legions of donors and volunteers who supported the project.  The Valley Hospice Foundation has now transitioned to ensuring that hospice and palliative care continues to be well supported in the Annapolis Valley.

As the Foundation’s mandate continues to grow, we are recruiting for a qualified individual to lead our fund-raising efforts and to develop community relations through comprehensive communications planning.

The successful candidate for the position will be passionate about VHF’s programs and initiatives and will become a knowledgeable champion for the organization and the communities we serve.

About the Opportunity:

Reporting to the Valley Hospice Foundation Chair, the Fund Development and Communications Coordinator will create and execute a comprehensive Fund Development Plan and Communications Plan in line with Valley Hospice Foundation’s current Strategic Plan.  This role will also build and strengthen relationships with the community and create sponsorship and other development opportunities.
